Nerd (Herd) is the word.

Welcome to the 2015-16 school year!

I hope all of you are ready to be back to school after resting and recharging over the summer. I had a great summer, including several Academy trips (such as the tour of Chicago's own Little Italy and Eataly, pictured left). At this time, however, I'd like to welcome both new and returning students and their families to the new school year. Below are some things to know as the year begins.

  • Planners are here! They will be distributed through English classes the first week of school. Students are encourgaged to familiarize themselves with the EHS Student Handbook (in front of planner), and to use the planner to keep abreast of class assignments, tests, quizzes, etc.

  • PBIS is our school-wide disciplinary policy. Students should expect PBIS lessons to take up part of class time on both Tuesday and Wednesday this week. On Thursday, the PBIS committee has scheduled an event for the end of the day, so EHS will follow its Assembly Schedule (Check planner for schedule).

  • Late Start Days will again be implemented this year at EHS. The purpose of this time is to allow teachers to further their work in PLC groups. Late Start Days are held every Tuesday morning from 7:40-8:30 am, and are expected to begin the week of 08/24.
